Paula Abdul Used Feng Shui

Not only has Paula Abdul used feng shui in her Hollywood home, but she's also used it on the set of the hit show American Idol.

Most people now know Paula Abdul as one of the judges on American Idol, but some may just remember her from her singing and dancing career from back in the 1980's. Yes, before she sat in the judge's chair between Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, Abdul was an award winning choreographer and singer.

Abdul has won a number of awards and accolades for her work with Janet Jackson and on The Tracey Ullman Show and has had albums certified Platinum many times over.

Before the last season of American Idol was to begin live at the Kodak Theater, Paula Abdul used feng shui because she claimed that she didn't like the whole "vibe" of the set. So, she hired a Feng Shui master to help improve the chi flow. Not sure if it worked or not, given that favorite, Michael Johns was voted out unexpectedly, but maybe that was his fate.

At home, Abdul has been known to consult feng shui experts such as:

• Marie Diamond – Other clients of Diamond's include Mick Jagger, Dan Akroyd, Chaka Khan and Michael Vartan. Diamon practices feng shui principles such as Form and Compass, Flying Star and Eight Mansions. Diamond has studied feng shui under masters Lillian Too and Grand Master Yap Chang Hai
• David Cho – Aside from assisting celebrities like Paula Abdul, William H. Macy and Rob Lowe, David Cho has a number of prestigious credentials like:
  • He's the grandson of Sang Young, world renowned Chinese herbalist.
  • Once held the position of director at the American Society of Feng Shui
  • Director of the American Feng Shui Institute
  • Worked as a feng shui consultant for, among others, the AOL Creative Center, The United States Treasury Department, Victoria's Secret and the Los Angeles Convention center

Okay, so everyone has seen Paula Abdul's erratic and somewhat seemingly intoxicated behavior on American Idol and if you didn't see it, it was all over YouTube for forever. Then again, what isn't all over YouTube? So, this may cause you to dismiss the practice of feng shui by celebrities, claiming it to be just another celebrity fad for those celebrities that seem a little bit…off. Look at the other, extremely successful celebrities that have used feng shui in their home and work environments.

• Donald Trump – This multi-billionaire real estate mogul has been known to consult his ba gua map for his home and business endeavors.
• Sting – His career has spanned decades, his marriage has survived them all. Maybe he should have consulted a feng shui expert when he was with The Police to help prevent the acrimonious break-up. Nevertheless, eventually, the band did reunite for their most recent world tour.
• Madonna – Again, here is another celebrity whose career has been successful for decades. From dancer in Detroit to musical icon, Madonna has experienced many successes in her career and life over the years.
• Oprah – Who is the most powerful woman in show business year after year, Oprah keeps her positive chi flowing by all the good deeds she performs.

Just because Paula Abdul used feng shui by hiring high priced consultants doesn't mean you have to do the same to begin your feng shui journey. All you need to do is pick up a few books, maybe do a little research on the Internet and begin transforming the chi in your house room by room. Once you begin applying these principles to your home, take time out once in awhile to reflect on how your life has changed (even subtlety) from before you began using feng shui to after. You might just be surprised at what you discover.
