Energy Flows Everywhere

Using feng shui in the bedroom to help your career may seem an unlikely spot, but remember, chi flows everywhere, including the bedroom. If you think about it, our bedrooms are one place in our home where we spend the majority of uninterrupted time. Sure, you can lay around lazy on the couch one day for six hours, but you're getting up to get snacks and go to the bathroom. In the bedroom, most of us spend at least six to eight hours at one time sleeping. Given this relatively large amount of time, why wouldn't the energy in there affect just about every aspect of you life?

Feng Shui for Bedroom to Help Career Reputation Tips

Here are a few tips to help you gain a promotion, recognition, or any your goal in your career:

  • Make a Ba gua map of your bedroom – This will tell you where your career and reputation areas of your room are according to the Lo Shu square.
  • Use the color red – Red is a power color and one of the main colors represented by the element of fire. In feng shui, reputation is ruled by the element of fire. You don't have to go all crazy and paint your entire room fire engine red (this can be overwhelming and induce feelings of anger), instead, try placing a few accessories around your bedroom in the color. Think more along the lines of red picture frames (pairs are best), red throw pillows or an area rug in which the dominant color is red.
  • Calculate your Kua number – Once you calculate your Kua number, position your bed so your head is facing in your most auspicious direction.
  • Make use of water elements – In feng shui, the career is represented by the color black and the element of water. Hang a picture in your bedroom that has predominately black (and maybe red, representing your reputation). Place a water element such as a small table fountain in your bedroom. The east or southeast areas of your bedroom are the most auspicious for these water elements.

Other Colors to Use

If you aren't really fond of any of the colors suggested above, here are a few other feng shui for bedroom to help career reputation colors you can use:

  • Orange
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Blue

Other General Tips to Help Your Career

Here are a few general feng shui tips for your bedroom to help your positive energy flow and help you reach your career goals:

  • Keep your bedroom clean – Yes, sometimes it's very difficult to keep a bedroom neat and tidy, especially with the very busy lives we all seem to lead, but keeping a clean room is very important to positive chi flow.
  • Get rid of old items – Cleaning your bedroom goes beyond sweeping, dusting, mopping and vacuuming. Go through your closet and get rid of old clothing and items you don't use anymore. Ladies, get rid of those old "skinny" jeans you've been hanging onto (yes, we all do it) they hold negative connotations regarding the current shape of your body and invite negative chi. Donate those shoes you don't wear and those purses that have seen better days. Donating these items to charity not only helps people in need, but also is karmically rewarding.
  • Don't forget under the bed – This is especially important if you're working toward a promotion. Clutter and dust bunnies that reside under most people's beds cause chi to slow down and eventually stagnate. When the chi under your bed stagnates, you don't get restful sleep. This affects your mental clarity and acuity, which you need to put in a good day at work. You need to make every day a good day at work if you want that promotion, so, clean out anything that's under your bed and evict the dust bunnies.

A Final Tip

If you're going to go through the steps to make your room the perfect positive chi haven for your career reputation, remember to keep it up. That means, keep it clean, keep your plants watered and keep your pictures dusted.
