Feng Shui Bed and Window
From LoveToKnow Feng-Shui
In order to have good bedroom feng shui, bed and window placement is an integral aspect of decorating the room.
Chi and the Feng Shui Bedroom
Your bedroom is one of the most important rooms in your home. It is where you go to rest and recharge your body both physically and mentally. As you sleep you should feel safe and protected in a room that is peaceful and quiet as your body’s personal energy, your chi, is replenished.
The feng shui bedroom must be set up in a way that the flow of chi is not too overwhelming as it circulates throughout. If it is it will be distracting and disturb your sleep. However, the chi must be able to flow freely throughout the room, along with plenty of fresh air so you feel revitalized and full of energy when you awake.
The Importance of Proper Bed Placement
One of the most important things to think about when applying the principles of feng shui to your bedroom is the position of the bed in relation to the windows and doors in the room. An Improperly placed bed makes it difficult to get a good night’s rest. Improper bed positioning results in a lack of energy, general tiredness and an overall feeling of being unwell.
This occurs because the flow of life energy, or chi, travels from the bedroom door to the windows. By placing the bed in the optimum position you will benefit from the positive chi, getting a restful night’s sleep and feeling refreshed and energetic.
Feng Shui Bed and Window Placement
The relationship of the bed to the windows in the room is a critical element for a good feng shui bedroom.
Positioning a Bed Under a Window
If possible avoid placing your bed under a window. During the night when your body is resting and regenerating its energy supply it needs protection and support. It is best to place the bed along a solid wall if possible as this gives your body the needed support.
If you place a bed under or in front of a window, your body cannot completely replenish its life energy supply. Over time your personal energy weakens leaving you feeling tired, unenergetic and more susceptible to illness. This happens because the flow of your personal chi goes out of the window instead of revitalizing your body.
If it is not possible to move your bed from under the window, it is essential that you have a headboard that is very strong and solid. Place the headboardheadboard about a foot away from the window giving enough room for the chi to circulate freely throughout the room. The windows should also be covered with a good window covering, such as heavy draperies, when you go to bed. The idea is to create the feeling of a strong and solid wall behind the bed.
Placing the Bed Along a Wall with Windows
If you must position the bed along a wall with a window, then place it with the window to the right. With the bed placed in this position, when you get up you receive the positive energy of the universe at the start of each new day.
Positioning the Bed in Line With the Door and Window
When a bed is placed in direct line with a door and window, the bed causes disruption to the flow of chi in the bedroom. In turn, your sleep is disrupted and you will not be able to get a restful night’s sleep.
Optimum Feng Shui Bed Position
In feng shui the best placement for a bed is called the command position. For this position, position the bed along a solid wall on the far side of the room not directly facing the door.
When practicing the art of feng shui, bed and window placement that follows feng shui guidelines is essential for a restful night’s sleep, which allows your body to replenish its universal life energy.
