Meet The Creator: Steve Vollum

Steve Vollum is an electrical engineer, programmer and the inventor of the Fortune Compass, the first electronic compass for calculating feng shui. His idea for this feng shui compass was an expression of his personal success in using feng shui to enhance his life.

Electronic Feng Shui Compass: How It Works

There are several components to this device.

Gua number generator – You can compute your gua number by entering your birthdate and even program this device for your best directions. The gua numbers can be stored for other family members, too. It automatically calculates and assigns East and West groupings.
Best directions – The Fortune Compass calculates and gives your best directions for sleeping, health, working, success, relationships and more. It also reveals your fortunate directions and which ones are your most challenging directions.
Eight directions Bagua screen – This screen gives you all eight directions at once so you can immediately see where each is and which are best for you.
LCD screen display – You can read the results, see the text and images even in bright sunlight.
Authentic and traditional Feng Shui formulas have been programmed into this handheld compass.
Rechargeable battery – Comes with an internal lithium polymer battery. All you need do is connect to a USB mini-5 power supply or fully charge directly from your laptop in four hours.
User friendly menu - The LCD menu display gives you many choices for customizing the screen's appearance.

There are two compass modes for operating your compass
- Quick Mode – Fast access to your favorable directions
- Personal Mode – Customized view and use for multiple users. Provides additional screens for your Focused Favorable direction.

Software Updates – Once you purchase your electronic compass you will have access to the customers area where you can download software updates and learn about the newest features.

Accurate Compass Readings

Human error is taken out of the equation. Compass school relies upon accurate compass readings, so this new electronic compass reduces the chance of human error in determining the exact degrees for the facing direction of your home. Getting an accurate reading can be hampered by the pitch when taking a compass reading with a typical compass. The manufacturer claims the electronic compass is accurate up to ±2 degrees with a ±30° pitch or roll. The electronic compass has a built-in tilt correction along with software that automatically calibrates and verifies the accuracy of your readings. If you're holding the compass with too much of a tilt, you’ll receive a message on the screen that will remain lit up until you level the compass.
